My name is Dr Scarlett Lewitschnig, I am a nuclear medicine consultant and GP specialist in thyroid disorders, functional medicine and aesthetics with a private practice in Klagenfurt, Austria. I have an approach to medicine which integrates holistic and conventional medicine and also incorporates nutrition, supplements, mesotherapy and infusions. An individual and holistic approach to your concerns is at the heart of my practice.
International Training
I obtained my primary medical degree from the Karl-Franzens-University in Graz, Austria in 2001, followed by three years of GP training. After this time, I decided I wanted more training and international experience and moved to Australia. I joined the physician training program and become a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians specialized in nuclear medicine. During my time in Queensland, I had the opportunity to work in renowned hospitals such as the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and The Prince Charles Hospital. For my last year of training, I came to Guys and St. Thomas’ in London and continued working at the PET center as well as in acute medicine outside London and general nuclear medicine.
Moving back to Austria I initially worked at the nuclear medicine department at my local hospital. After my time there I had the opportunity to work in a holistic health care center leaving it to start my own private practice.
Over the years I gained knowledge in skin care and aesthetics in many courses and workshops. Frustrated over baseless claims of the cosmetic industry I gained increasing knowledge of effective skincare ingredients.
My own private practice gives me the opportunity to tailor conventional medical and holistic treatments specifically to the needs of my patients.
